BEIJING, May 17 (Xinhua) -- American adventure film "A Dog's Journey" hit Chinese screens on Friday.

Based on a book by W. Bruce Cameron, the film follows a dog named Buddy that finds the meaning of his own existence after searching for his purpose through several eventful lives.

Directed by Gail Mancuso, the comedy-drama film is a sequel to the 2017 film "A Dog's Purpose."
